AI Is No Longer a “Nice-To-Have” in Marketing

A couple of years ago, when ChatGPT first burst onto the scene, like everyone else I was skeptical as f*ck.

I saw it as a fun tool to mess with just to see how it would reply or ask questions to test how “smart” it actually was.

Fast forward, AI has now become an indispensable part of most of our workflows. What began as a way to speed up blog writing has now evolved into a full-scale content and operations strategy.

For example, I used to spend weeks manually creating blog posts targeting rugby-related keywords. Now, with AI, I can produce a month’s worth of high-quality, SEO-optimised content in just a few hours.

Example

Generating detailed training programs – I simply ask the AI, “Create a 12-week periodised speed program for rugby,” and within moments, I have a professional-quality article ready to go.

Last year, this efficiency allowed me to cover all the relevant rugby search terms, driving an additional 90,000 visitors to our store and boosting revenue by $135,000.

I’ve also started using AI to write product descriptions, craft social media captions, and brainstorm new content ideas. It’s literally like having an assistant that never takes a coffee break.

AI is no longer a “nice-to-have.”

Just like the internet and social media transformed industries in the past, AI is now reshaping how we work, create, and connect with customers.

Key Takeaways from this

  • AI Saves Time and Boosts Efficiency:

What used to take weeks can now be done in hours, freeing up time for strategic thinking and growth.

  • Content is Just the Beginning:

While I started with blog posts, I’ve since expanded to using AI for product descriptions, social media, and more.

  • It’s About Working Smarter, Not Harder:

AI isn’t here to replace us—it’s here to help us do our jobs better and faster.
